North Norfolk Coastal Path – Holme to Hunstanton (3 miles)

Did our packing and then took the Coast Hopper from Sheringham to Holme (purchasing a Duo Return Ticket from Sheringham to Hunstanton at the advice of the bus driver, this being the cheapest option for our return trip). Sue took charge of ticket and put it ‘in a safe place’!
This final section proved to be the second hardest bit of walking as it is all in soft sand (if you follow the actual route and don’t deviate from it down onto the beach).
Finally arrived in Hunstanton and spent some time trying to decide where the official end of the walk is! You’d think there might be some sort of sign somewhere, but no, we asked in the Tourist Info and the very nice lady said that walkers were always asking and she’d sent in an email asking them to do something about it. So in the end we tramped around the whole area where the map shows it as ending so as to be sure we’d done it properly.
Then we went to catch the bus back to Sheringham. Remember the return ticket? Well guess what – the ‘safe place’ wasn’t so safe and the ticket had vanished! However, we’d stopped at a cafe for tea 15 mins earlier and Sue thought that she’d dropped something at the time but couldn’t see what it was. So she disappeared back down the street only to return a few minutes later with the ticket clutched in her hand.
Finally we rode back to Sheringham and it’s amazing to travel back by bus for 1 hour 52 minutes to cover the distance that you’ve walked!
